Years later she discovered her unrelenting excitement for teams, collaboration and sticky intersections with her research focusing on brainstorming performance and personality types when “design thinking” was just hitting mainstream media. She studied the science of creativity and new product development while leading teams at Arizona State University. As a Marie Curie Fellow in Europe, she continued to investigate the human experience inside organizations and teams focused on innovation.

From Herman Miller to Johnson Controls and 3M, she has created new teams, capabilities and infectious team vibes inside corporate organizations and across the globe. She left corporate leadership in 2017 after being invited to be the first Designer-in-Residence at Stanford’s d.school. From there, she launched DESIGN+, an avenue for her to get more hands on. Her first year’s goal was simply: Collaborate. She has been working and playing across industries and with fantastic collaborators ever since.

DESIGN+ exists as a way to bring great collaborations to life. You can expect a human-centered approach in how we connect and care about you and your challenges. Our relationship with you really matters to us.

DESIGN+ brings some of the most inspiring and expert folks together for each project; check out more about some of our favorites over here.

We always:
1. Start with curiosity.
We’ll spend time understanding your context and stakeholders, learning and creating empathy from different perspectives as we dig deep into understanding the “current state” before we fast forward to the “future state”.
2. Take an active coaching posture. We want YOU to win.
You are the expert in your context – we will ask provocative questions, provide guidance and champion you as the owner and leader of the work and its impact. This gives you a greater runway for discovery, growth and influence.
3. Design collaborative learning experiences that propel progress.
Our work is always punctuated by well-designed learning experiences (not powerpoints). You might call them workshops - but this is where we shine. We don’t work in a bubble outside of your team or organization, we gather and collaborate together, to build the shifts you need. These experiences feel orchestrated, energizing, playful and wildly productive.

We never:
…analyze data behind closed doors and present shiny solutions.
…follow a formulaic methodology for each project and client.
…speak in jargon and use forgettable frameworks.

Whether you’re facing a major transition or just need a nudge in a new direction, DESIGN+ brings the knowhow to help you make shift(s) happen— to shape real results, not just new slides.
